Sunday School

Sunday school is directed by our Christian Education Minister, Jenni Krall. Sunday School runs from 11:30 until 12:15 every Sunday. Children begin in the church service and leave for their classes after the Theme Time.

Every attempt is made within the Sunday School to be inclusive and welcoming. This includes finding ways to welcome new children and long-time attenders, boys and girls, children who have short and long-attention spans. It also means drawing on many images for the Holy in our programming and in the ways we talk with, and listen to, children.

Children at Eastside also participate in worship - as greeters, readers, prayer writers and pray-ers, singers, special musicians, communion assistants, liturgical leaders. For these and other reasons, children may sometimes remain in worship.

There is "Kid's Corner" at the back of the worship space for children who wish to remain during service. There is also a speaker in the library (through the Kid's Corner door) for families that want to leave the worship space but continue to hear the service.

The Christian Education Committee is pleased to announce we now have Nursery care! Beginning again September 18, 2011 you can bring your infant/toddler (birth to 3yrs of age) downstairs for singing, playing and coloring.  

Our nursery is run by members of the youth group who have their babysitting/first aid and CPR training and is overseen by the Christian Education Minister.

Jenni Krall is on maternity leave until September 2012.  The CE Contact person is Amanda Tessier.
